manuscript Trial 1955: fiber Analysis
Hiriam Hillburn was a boy who grew up in Greenwood, Mississippi with his grandparents. Hiriam and his grandad were very close. He loved his grans homework and going to his grandfathers plantation. When he was seven his grandmother died out of the blue and his grandfather became very ill. Once he turned nine, his father came and took him from Greenwood. Hiriam then moved to Tempe, Arizona. He gained intravenous feeding other siblings and his dad became a college professor. Finally, after 7 far slanging years of begging, pleading, and fighting with his father, Hiriam got to go on a summer vacation back to Mississippi. While there he got tangled in a murder/kidnapping case of a Negro boy by the name of Emmett Till. In the book, Hiriam Hillburn, grew as a person. He started to see things that he didnt see before. Hiriam started making the right findings. When returning home, he made the ending of making things right with his dad. Also, he made the right decision by going on trial. He didnt pity about the color of the skin of the victim or accused. Hiriam notwithstanding wanted to make sure justice was served. Hiriam, too stood up to R.C. Rydell who he use to be afraid of as a child.
Mississppi Trail 1955: Theme
The theme of the story is a person should everlastingly believe in what he/she thinks is right. It is revealed in the book when Hiriam is served with a subpoena saying he has to appear in court. He is confused because he doesnt know if he should try out because of his grandfather and Namoi telling him not to. Or if he should because he believes R.C. Rydell is involved in the murder because of what he told him about him and 2 other white men going to find Emmett Till. It is also revealed when Hiriam says I was Hiriam Hillburn, and I knew what I was going to do: I was going to do what is right. (pg.154)
