Pioneers of the Imperial Valley

Who would have taught that people from all over the world would generate to this dry and desert area to share their farming, traditions, and most significantly their history. Believe it or not, people from cultures such as France, Lebanese, Nipponese, Switzerland, Ireland, German, Chinese, Mexico, and Lusitanian have come to the Imperial valley. I learned passim this trip that you dont have to be an important person to attain history; anyone is capable of changing or creating history.
The first culture that I went to see inside the Pioneers Museum and Cultural Center was Japanese. By 1940, it was evident that the relations between the United States and Japan would maybe lead to war, on behalf of the Japanese American citizens League Dr. Taniguchi presented a resolution of allegiance to the County Board of Supervisors; over 600 Imperial valley Nisei attended the ceremony. During World War II approximately 5,000 Japanese Americans served in the U.S. Armed forces while their families were behind barbed telegraph in American relocations camps. Here in the Imperial Valley many soldiers or N served, and many were given decorations for fealty; unfortunately three were killed in action in atomic number 63 from the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.



When the war was finally over and the render of the Poston Relocation Center opened, many Japanese Americans returned to the Imperial Valley, it seemed kinda unfamiliar to them. Their former way of living life their could and be remembered; for what they werent prepared for was the hostility and hardships waiting for them.
On declination 2, 19944, the Imperial County Farm Bureau director announced that a resolution was passed which protested the return of Japanese Americans to the Imperial Valley. A bargain rally was held on December 7, 1944 to protest the return of Japanese Americans; organized by 39 Imperial County civic, agricultural and biovular organizations.
