Ethical and legal Distinctions: Week ii Application
Introduction
This paper leave discuss two slipway in which the ACA and the AMHCA is similar and different in terms of the mark of ethics. Specific examples from my own work experience will be offered. I will explain one insight and closing curtain I drew as a result of this report and analysis of the two recruits of ethics.
Similarities
Similarities between the AMHCA (2010) and the ACA (2005) scratch of ethics that search most important is the primary function code designated by the ACA as A.1.a and for the AMHCA as A.1.a. to respect the dignity and promote the eudaemonia of invitees and ACA (2005) B.1.c and AMHCA (2010) A.1.a which concerns the clients rights to confidentiality. Both the ACA and the AMHCA recognize the importance of these two codes. Counselors need to be ever aware of the primary duty to the client to promote dignity and welfare of the client as well as protect confidential information. The primary responsibility of promoting dignity and respect forms the basis of the trusting therapeutic relationship.
Therefore, counselors essential first begin and always hold the dignity of the client and the welfare of the client above all else. The second code of importance is confidentiality. Clients come to counselors to get divine service with problems that can be private, embarrassing and personal in nature. They manage intimate details of their lives that they may not be unbidden to share with anyone else. Respecting this private information and keeping it confidential is the except way anyone who feels vulnerable will be willing to unmasking himself or herself in this way.
