The Invasion of the united States

Did your ancestors wait their turn on Ellis Island to live the true American Dream? “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to give out free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” (Emma Lazarus 1883). Those are the principles that our sphere is founded on.

For example, as my father lives to tell his story; he arrived in this sylvan at sixteen years old in 1959 with $cxxxv dollars in his pocket. He has lived the American Dream, raised two children, and is a proud grandparent of four. He is now sixty-four years old, cardinal year away from retiring in Puerto Rico, will pull three pensions, social security and owns a multi-family home that has been pay off for many years.

Another example is my husband’s great grandfather. He fulfilled his Dream by time lag on line on Ellis Island, thus entering our country legally. Now, my husband’s family is running a fourth contemporaries family-owned business which employs over 200 people. Sixty percent of their manpower is blue-collar workers all of which have legal status in this country.





These two stories of success are one of the reasons I am proud to call myself an American. However, that is now a thing of the past. As of 2003, there are estimates between nine and thirteen one million million illegal immigrants that reside in the United States. The United States’
