Marin met Geraldo at a dance. The only information she knew about him was his first name, he worked at a restaurant, he wore green pants and a glassy shirt, and that he was a migrant worker who spoke no English. When he died from a hit and run accident that evening, she is disturbed as to why she fearfulnesss for this stranger. She is upset because if the doctor had come quite he may pose been saved or they would energize at the very least known his last name. She wonders how they get out notify his family when they know nothing about him. She imagines Geraldo working sternly and supporting his family by sending money and then neer hearing from him again. They will wonder what happened and not know that they have lost him forever. She is visibly disturbed that no one seems to care. She has mercy for this stranger and his family and does not know why.
She is also upset that the law and hospital personnel do not have ruth for this migrant worker. Do the police and doctor not care because he was just another brazer?
The author grabs the attention of the commentator by writing as if she is talking to someone in casual conversation. The reader becomes involved and wants to hear more. This story reminds us that everyone studys and shows the importance of learning about other people no matter how brief the encounter.
