Lymphocytes are cells of the immune system. Eosinophils are present in the blood in very small numbers, as low as 0-450/?l. They protrude in larger numbers in people with parasitic infections. Eosinophils contain cytotoxic granules, which take up eosin sign and therefore appear red, giving the cells their name. These cytotoxic granules are utilise to kill the parasites.
