The idea of a bureaucracy was authentic by Max Weber, a German theorists in the after-hours 1800s. According to Daft 2005, during that time organizations were managed on a personal, family-like origination and employees were more loyal to a single individual or else than the organization or its mission. Webers view is that organizations should be managed on an impersonal rational basis. This organization was called a bureaucracy. A bureaucratic organization is a structure with highly mathematical function operating tasks achieved through specialization, very formalized rules and regulations, tasks that are assort into functional departments, centralized authority, narrow spans of control, and decision making that follows the filament of command. In the Bureaucratic organizations, this resulted in an efficient drop of the employees skills. In certain fields, however, specialization is still relevant (e.g. in the medical field where one would not expect a heart surgeon to perform a brain surgery).
