In the noncurrent social strainification was through birth and mans economic circumstances was determined by hereditary. But in present society that has been abolished and replaced by natural talent, people favoured by nature have more advantages.
This way of life is commonly considered just and fair by everyone but when a disturbance occurs like a crisis of economic disaster, a sort of declassification happens and suicide rates go up. The rich people or upper class may suddenly find themselves in a start state and lose all their advantages. It could also be the reverse, a sudden growth of wealth and power and the limits set by society is no longer recognised. This can lead to a state of de-regulation with the jealousy on the part of those less favoured and the rich have uncontrolled desires.
The more importance we attach to temporal things, the more we depend on ourselves when we acquire wealth. When we lose that wealth, our desire to live is weakened.
